La Petite Academy Honors Mentorship Award Winner Melinda Orr

Melinda Orr - 2019 LMMA WinnerKANSAS CITY, Missouri, May 17, 2019 – La Petite Academy is proud to honor teacher Melinda Orr from its Kansas City, Missouri school location as this year’s recipient of the company’s highly coveted Lisa Miskimins Mentorship Award.  Orr was chosen from more than 18,000 early childhood education teachers nationwide from La Petite Academy and its sister schools in Learning Care Group – Childtime, Tutor Time, The Children’s Courtyard, Everbrook Academy, Creative Kids Learning Centers, and Montessori Unlimited.

Learning Care Group established this mentorship award in the name of Lisa Miskimins, Senior Vice President, Field Operations. She is an outstanding and inspiring leader and advisor to many in the early childhood education industry. With this distinction, each year, the company recognizes a teacher who shows remarkable leadership attributes and an ability to guide others to perform at their best.

A Certified Master Teacher and Lead Two-Year-Old Teacher, this year’s winner Melinda Orr is a role model and mentor for new hires and seasoned staff members alike. She provides valuable guidance to assist others in further sharpening their skills, while inspiring creative approaches and developing proficiency with company processes. She brings subject matter to life through her enthusiasm and imagination.

“Melinda is our dynamic Master Two-Year-Old Teacher who not only trains and mentors, but inspires and leads others while making the subject matter come alive,” said Trudy Anderson, Divisional Vice President at La Petite Academy. “Melinda also is our ‘go to’ person for NECPA reverification, going to schools throughout our region to assist with preparation. She’s extremely knowledgeable and helps her peers hone their skills, encouraging their ongoing education and advancing their professional development.
