Leigh-Ellen Louie joined Learning Care Group in May 2011. In this role, she oversees the operational activities for more than 1,000 schools in the company’s portfolio of brands. She is responsible for the development and execution of the company’s system-wide education and service delivery strategy.

Leigh-Ellen has 25 years of general management and strategy experience in multi-site consumer service industries such as education, retail, hospitality and leisure. Her career has been focused on developing strong field-based teams, particularly for the leading companies in fragmented, mission- and service-based industries.

Prior to joining Learning Care Group, Leigh-Ellen’s last role was President of Kaplan Test Prep where she led a Field and Home Office team of over 10,000 employees. She joined Kaplan in 1999 as President of Kaplan Medical, subsequently adding responsibility for Kaplan English Programs and Western US Field Operations, and ultimately becoming President of the division in 2006. Prior to Kaplan, Leigh-Ellen was the VP of Business Planning and Development for Walt Disney Imagineering, the design/build arm of Disney’s Theme Park division, following roles in corporate development and general management for Spirit Cruises, the largest US operator of harbor cruises at that time. Her early career included roles in management consulting at A.T. Kearney and in retail operations at Bullock’s Department Stores.

Most recently, Leigh-Ellen was an Operating Executive with Weld North LLC, a private equity company formed by the ex-CEO of Kaplan Inc. and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and Co. LP (KKR). At Weld North, she focused on identifying and evaluating potential consumer service investments, specifically in the wellness and consumer health areas.

Leigh-Ellen has a BA from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
