Ira L. Young has served as General Counsel to the Company since 2002. From 1999-2002 he served as General Counsel to Tutor Time Learning Systems, Inc. having joined that company in 1998 as Litigation Counsel. As General Counsel, Mr. Young oversees all legal affairs of the Company including governance, intellectual property, franchise compliance, franchisee relationships and employment/labor issues. He also serves as the Company’s Corporate Secretary.
Prior to 1998, Mr. Young was in private practice in Boca Raton Florida with the firm Mandel, Simowitz and Weisman. During his tenure with that firm, Mr. Young specialized in complex commercial litigation, foreclosure law, and representation of creditors in bankruptcy proceedings.
Mr. Young received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis, a Master of Professional Studies (Hotel Restaurant Administration) from the Statler School of Hotel Administration, Cornell University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Law.
